Privacy Policy
You have the option to list or not list all contact information other
than city, state, and country. Although your email address is
required, you have the option to publicly hide it. SWAN agrees not to
use it for anything other than to contact you directly. If you choose
to "hide" your email publicly, and another member sees your name
wanting to contact you, they will click on your name. SWAN will send
you an email indicating that that person wants to contact you. The
email we send you will have their email address. That is when SWAN is
no longer involved in the communication process. If you wish to
contact them, you must do so between your personal email address and
their personal email address. If you don't wish to contact them,
nothing happens. They don't get an email saying you don't wish to
contact them.
If your email is NOT public, you have NOT posted any other optional
contact info, and you have NOT created an online resume for employers
and recruiters to view, your personal information other than city,
state, country, and years sold books will not be available to others.
Member Agreement
1) Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to SWAN. SWAN provides the website to you, subject to the
following Terms of Service, which may be updated from time to time
without notice to you.
2) Registration Obligations
In consideration of your use of SWANconnect.com, you agree to provide
true and accurate information about yourself. SWAN has the right to
suspend or terminate your account if you provide false information,
post harmful or threatening information about any individual, company,
organization, or group. See Section 4 titled "Member Conduct" for more
information.
3) Member Account, Password, and Security
You will provide a password and account designation during the
registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the
confidentiality of the password and account, and are fully responsible
for all activities that occur under your password and account. SWAN
will not be liable for any damage arising from failure to comply with
this.
4) Member Conduct
You understand that all information and content which you post are the
sole responsibility of the person from which such content originated.
This means that you are entirely responsible for all content that you
post, email, transmit, or make available through SWANconnect.com.
You agree not to use SWANconnect.com to:
upload, post, email, transmit, or make available any content that is
unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous,
defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy,
hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
impersonate any person or entity;
upload, post, email, or make available any content that infringes any
patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary
rights of any party, including individuals, groups, organizations,
companies, or any other entity;
You acknowledge that AndersenAlumni.net does not pre-screen content.
AndersenAlumni.net has the right to remove any content that is in
violation of these terms of service.
5) Links
SWAN may provide links to other World Wide Web sites or resources.
Because SWAN has no control over such sites and resources, you
acknowledge and agree that SWAN is not responsible for the
availability of such external sites or resources, and does not endorse
other materials from such sites.
6) Limitation of Liability
You understand and agree that SWAN shall not be liable for any direct,
indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages,
including but not limited to, damage for loss of profits, goodwill, or
any other situation.
7) Eligible Members
By joining SWAN, you acknowledge that you have completed at least 1
full summer selling books. SWAN is not intended to be used by anyone
other than SWAN alumni. SWAN is not responsible or liable for any
user's actions while improperly acting as an alumni of Southwestern.
8) Site Content
No material of any kind, including any text, quotations, comments, or
anything else posted on this website from either SWAN members or SWAN
administrators can be duplicated, copied, plagarized, etc. The
information on SWANconnect.com is the property of SWAN, LLC.
9) Couch and Coffee Members’
Guest and Hosts alike are advised to exercise their own discretion in
this program before housing or staying with a fellow member. SWAN is
not liable for members’ actions.
